MRC EYE HOSPITAL is a prestigious charitable Project of Mysore Race Club Charitable Trust.

MRC EYE HOSPITAL was established on 30th July, 1994, and was inaugurated by the then Governor of Karnataka His Excellency Shri Kurshid Alam Khan. MRC Eye Hospital completed seventeen years of useful service in the field of Eye care for people in Mysore City and surrounding Districts. Mysore Race Club Charitable Trust (MRC Charitable Trust) was conceived and formed by the Mysore Race Club Limited in 1983. It was the brainchild of Mr Farookh Irani, who presided over the destiny of the Mysore Race Club in its early years.

Horse racing was started in Mysore City in 1891 by the then Maharaja Chamaraja Wodeyar. Mysore Race Club Limited celebrated the centenary of horse racing in the city in 1991 (1891-1991). MRC Eye Hospital is a service project established in commemoration of the centenary celebrations.

MRC Eye Hospital is a 100 bedded Eye Hospital, situated in one acre plot in Siddartha Nagar, Mysore. It is fully equipped with best of hi-tech instruments.

Lions Club International

The Lions Club International Foundation has liberally donated US $ 66695 for the development of this hospital under project SF-732. As a part of this fund, the first installment of US $ 44640 (Rs.21,83,362) was released in 2003 and the remaining part of the fund was released in 2005 out of which Ophthalmic equipments required for the hospital were purchased.
